Meet the Founder

Get to know the passionate individuals behind Organization.

Danielle Harrington is a behavioral health leader, entrepreneur, and community advocate who has spent her career helping individuals, families, and communities build stronger, more stable lives.

With years of leadership experience in behavioral health, psychiatric rehabilitation, and Maryland’s Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA) system, Danielle has supported people with mental health needs, developmental disabilities, and complex life challenges. Along the way, she saw a clear truth: a person’s needs rarely exist in isolation. Mental wellness is shaped by access to stable housing, food, transportation, employment, education, and financial support, and by the ability to navigate complicated systems.

That insight inspired The Next Move Foundation, built to connect people with the resources and advocacy they need to take their next step forward.

Asking for Help Is Hard. Let’s Talk About It.

Most of us will do almost anything before we ask for help. We redo the budget five times. We skip a meal so the kids can eat, and we borrow from one bill to pay another. Then we smile and say “we’re good” when we really aren’t. If that sounds familiar, you’re not alone. For […]

The First Cold Morning

You know the morning. You step outside, the air bites a little harder than it did yesterday, and you think, okay, time to dig out the coats. For a lot of families, that thought comes with a second one: does everybody have a coat that fits? Kids grow. Last March’s coat won’t zip around a […]

“How are you?” might be the question we answer most without thinking. “Good.” “Fine.” “Busy, but good.” This World Mental Health Day, Saturday, October 10, we’re asking you to answer honestly and ask it like you mean it. If you’re a parent or caregiver, you’re tracking the appointments, the school forms, the light bill, and […]
